A public dispute has emerged between the social media page MvCrisis and two individuals who were active in recent protests—Abdulla Mahzoom Majid and Shimon (@dh0nkeyo)—after MvCrisis posted a tweet implying that both were paid MVR 2.5 million.
Although names were not directly mentioned in the post, a picture of the two was shared alongside the claim, leading many to connect the dots. MvCrisis stated they now believe the protest, initially claimed to be apolitical, may have had hidden agendas involving financial incentives.
In response, Abdulla Mahzoom Majid filed a legal complaint against the MvCrisis account, identifying its administrator as ShumbaGong. He also shared the legal document publicly on X (formerly Twitter), tagging ShumbaGong with the statement: “See you in court.”
Soon after, Hassan Kurusee—another well-known commentary account—clarified that his earlier tweets about the MVR 2.5 million were sarcastic and not based on verified facts, further fueling online debate.
As the situation unfolds, the controversy continues to spark heated conversations across social media platforms.
