A devastating Air India crash in Ahmedabad has claimed over 200 lives—but remarkably, one man survived.

British national Vishwashkumar Ramesh, seated in 11A on the London-bound Boeing 787-8, is confirmed to be the only known survivor. According to Indian police, the flight crashed into staff accommodation less than a minute after takeoff. Ramesh was seen walking toward an ambulance with smoke behind him, and has since been hospitalized.

Ramesh, who was born in India and now lives in the UK, called his family to say he was “fine,” though the fate of his brother—also onboard—remains unknown.

There were 169 Indian nationals, 53 Britons, and passengers from Portugal and Canada. UK officials and London Gatwick Airport have set up crisis teams to support families as investigations continue.

This incident has shaken the world and raised urgent questions about aviation safety.

🕊️ May the souls of the victims rest in peace. Our hearts are with the families.
